Provenance: Collection of composer Cameron O'Day Macpherson, Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, c. 1953; private New England collection by family descent, c. 1976.

N.B. The work was a preparatory drawing for an oil painting commissioned by Macpherson which was intended as a record jacket illustration for an original score performed at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. The score was unfortunately not recorded, and thus the painting not reproduced.
