Portrait of a Girl Wearing a Blue Dress and Red Shoes. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, c. 1830, 46 x 22 1/2 in., in a later mitered giltwood frame. Condition: Relined, edges trimmed, minor retouch.

Note: An inscription on the reverse reads: "Exhibited Pictorial Folk Art New England to California written by Alice Ford NY 1949, Collection of Helena Rubenstein."

A few spots of retouch, the largest is about 1 1/2 in. dia. to areas right of her right facing eye, a few smaller spots in background and on dress, there are also some scratches in the paint on her hair.
