Twelve Assorted Coin Silver Spoons, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, late 18th/early 19th century, including a set of six teaspoons, monogrammed on the back of the handles, marked "Jones Lows & Ball," Boston, c. 1840; four teaspoons marked "N. Harding" or "N. Harding & Co.," (Newell Harding),Boston, c. 1822-1842, monogrammed on the handles; a teaspoon by Ebenezer J. Austin, Charlestown, Massachusetts, c. 1760, engraved "M.Moor" on the handle and marked "EJ Austin" and with three small hallmarks, (dents, repair on bowl); a demitasse spoon by Benjamin Clark Gilman, Exeter, New Hampshire, c. 1784, marked "BCG" and monogrammed on the handle, (dents on bowl),lg. 5-6 in.; approx. 6 troy oz. total.

Note: Besides silversmithing, Benjamin Clark Gilman was mainly known as a maker of clocks and surveyor's instruments. He was the younger brother of John Ward Gilman, the silversmith who created the state seal for New Hampshire used during his time.
