Description:

Federal Mahogany Inlaid Pembroke Table, probably Litchfield, Connecticut, c. 1800, the drawer with inlaid oval bordered by stringing and ebony scalloping, with crossbanded lower edge joining legs inlaid with stringing and bellflowers, ending in cuffs, refinished, (minor imperfections),ht. 27 3/4, dp. 29, wd. closed 19 3/4 in.

Provenance: Eunice Pixley Welles, Stratford, Connecticut, c. 1800. Then by descent to Ruth Welles Worthen, New Haven, Connecticut, the grandmother of the consignor.
