Portrait Miniature of a Bearded Gentlemen, attributed to Clarissa Peters Russell (Mrs. Moses B. Russell),(Massachusetts, 1809-1854),unsigned, watercolor on ivory c. 1840, showing the gentleman in an oval with blue eyes and reddish-brown hair wearing a black jacket and a patterned cravat fastened with a stickpin, 2 x 2 1/4 in., in an oval pendant gilt brass case with chased bezel, the reverse engine-turned design with an empty small oval aperture. Condition: Good, two scratches in ivory c.l. of figure appear to have been there at time of painting.
