Stuart Davis (American, 1892-1964)

Untitled, from TEN WORKS + TEN PAINTERS, 1964, edition of 500 plus proofs, published by the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford (Cole, 27). Signed in the matrix, Ives-Sillman, New Haven dry stamp l.r., Fogg Art Museum duplicate and other stamps on the reverse. Color screenprint on paper, image size 11 x 14 1/8 in. (27.9 x 35.8 cm), matted and with original folder, unframed.
Condition: Margins 4 1/2 inches or more, subtle surface rubs, hinging residue to upper edge on the reverse.

Provenance: Property of the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard Art Museum, sold to benefit the acquisition fund.
Estimate $800-1,200

The rubs are visible only from certain angles and effect only the sheen of the ink.
