Wilson 13-inch Terrestrial Globe, with cartouche A New American Thirteen-Inch Terrestrial Globe. Exhibiting with the greatest possible accuracy, the Positions of the Principal Known Places of the Earth. With the Tracks of various Circumnavigators together with New Discoveries and Political Alterations down to the present Period: 1825. By J. Wilson & Son, Albany St., N.Y., made up of twelve engraved gores on plaster sphere, with countries shaded pink, green, or red, coasts hatched, American territories labeled, the central and western parts of the country labeled "International Provinces," the oceans labeled with the tracks of Cooke, Furneaux, Vancouver, Aukland, and the dates of their expeditions, showing Analemma, Ecliptic and Equatorial lines, and Meridian through Greenwich, in calibrated brass meridian circle, on cabriole mahogany stand with horizon ring divided by the degrees of Amplitude and Azimuth, the Zodiacal calendar by name and sigil, the Gregorian calendar, compass points and Equation of Time in red-painted rim with foliate border, ht. 29 in., (lacquer dirty and water damaged in places, areas of paper wear, dent in southern tip of Africa, cracks in Arctic and losses at Antarctic, two sections of paper lost from ring, vacant compass bowl detached from legs, stand probably added to the original Wilson ring).
