New England Carved Wood Spoon, c. late 18th/early 19th century, possibly Abenaki, the birch form with a dog's (?) head finial, perforated at the handle, (wood loss),lg. 10 3/4 in.

Provenance: Charles and Blanche Derby collection, and ex-collection of Charles Smart of Vermont.

Note: Found in a barn in Chittenden, Vermont.
