The Death of the Virgin, 1639, probably an early 18th century impression (Bartsch/Hollstein, 99 III/III). Signed and dated in the plate. Etching on laid paper with watermark "CDG," image/sheet size 15 1/2 x 12 1/8 in. (39.3 x 30.6 cm),hinged to a supporting sheet, unframed.
Condition: Trimmed to or just within the plate mark, repaired hole c.r. and repaired loss to corner l.r., subtle toning, annotations in pencil and ink on the reverse.
Estimate $1,000-1,500

The hole is about 1/4 in in diameter; the corner loss is about 1 inch tall and 1/2 inch wide. There are residual hinges to the reverse.
