Shaker Red-painted Oval Covered Box, America, mid-19th century, pine lid and bottom with maple sides with four fingers fastened with copper tacks, (imperfections),ht. 3 1/8, dia. 8 3/8 in.
Estimate $800-1,200

2 x 1/4 in. tapered loss to rim of box under lid on opposite side from fingers, not visible unless lid is off, some superfluous spots of light paint on lid.
