William Pierce Stubbs (American, 1842-1909)Portrait of the Schooner IDA L. HULL with Shore and Lighthouse in the Distance. Signed "W.P. Stubbs" l.l., vessel identified on the stern and pennant. Oil on canvas, 22 x 36 in., in a period molded wood frame. Condition: Paint loss c.l., craquelure.
Provenance: Family descent from the captain of the ship.
Note: The Ida L. Hull was built in Newburyport, Massachusetts, in 1882 by G.E. Currier. She was 498 tons.
