American Guitar, Gibson Incorporated, Kalamazoo, 1966, Model Johnny Smith, labeled STYLE JOHNNY SMITH, GIBSON GUITAR, NUMBER 348684, IS HERBY GUARANTEED... etc., and stamped 348684 on the back of the peghead, the headstock with GIBSON and split diamond pearl inlay, length of back 20 1/4 in., width of lower bout 16 7/8 in., with case.

Provenance: Ex-collection Ike Isaacs, Collection of George Benson.

'This one was a custom guitar for Ike Isaacs (1919-1996, the leading British jazz guitarist for generations, and a mainstay in the Stephane Grappelli group) who played it for nearly 40 years. It was also borrowed by Joe Pass for one of his last recording sessions.' (George Benson)
