Special Edition Wallace Nutting, Old New England Pictures, copyright 1913, with label "This book is one of an original edition of two hundred copies only, of which this copy is number #21 Special edition, Wallace Nutting maker," with handwritten Special Edition clarification under Notes on the Pictures and a glued in over text typed sheet regarding Special Edition thirty-one of thirty-four "Wallace Nutting Colonial Chain of Picture Houses" images included. Danville, Vermont; Cutler-Bartlet House, Newburyport; and Hospitality Hall (Webb House),Wethersfield. Accompanied by the original Wallace Nutting Inc., Framingham Center, Massachusetts sales receipt dated "Sept. 19-1917, Sold to Miss Alla A. Libbey, 21 Marlboro St., Newton, Mass. $100," handwritten "Paid Wallace Nutting, Oct. 8, 1917." Two architectural pencil and watercolor illustrations of "Alterations to House of Miss Libbey, Hobart Rd., Newton are included.

Note: Alla A. Libbey was born in Lewiston, Maine in 1885 to Winfield S. Libbey and Annie E. (Shaw) Libbey. Winfield Libbey was a lawyer, telegrapher, and Treasurer of W.S. Libbey Woolen Mill, at Lewiston, Maine. Alla attended Bates College, graduating in 1906, and in 1909 her father funded the building of the Forum for literary and Christian societies at Bates. At age 33, Miss Libbey is a Dean at a hospital, and living next door, on Marlboro St., to her now widowed mother of Hobart Rd., Newton. In 1944 Miss Libbey became the President of the Libbey Woolen Mill and later Chairman of the Board. Alla Libbey died in 1974. Prior to her death the Nutting book passed to Sybil Baker, a relative or aquaintance. Sybil Baker in New Hampshire in 1973, sold antiques and the book from her home to friend Marion Stocking of Conway, N.H. In 1995, the book was inherited by Ms. Stocking's niece, the consignor.
