Arts & Crafts Sapphire Brooch, H. S. Whitebeck, centering a bezel-set oval-cut blue sapphire measuring approx. 9.61 x 8.00 x 6.31 mm, framed by oval and circular-cut yellow sapphires and interspersed with floret, leaf, bud and vine motifs, gold mount, 1 1/4 x 1 in., signed H.S.W. Note: Harry S. Whitbeck was an Arts & Crafts metalsmith and jeweler who exhibited at the 1907 Boston Arts & Crafts Society show. He is also recorded as belonging to the Malden Arts & Crafts Society. Descended in the family of the original owner.
