Text in full: "Sir, I have received your letter of the 4th and told Capt. Williamson that five hundred dollrs. were at his command in consequence thereof. He says this is not enough & requires that the fifteen hundred which I am now to pay should be held for him, and as I know that his claims are sufficiently important to justify this demand I shall comply therewith and transmit you his receipts for the same, not doubting your approbation or that of all parties concerned. I am sir, your obedient humble servant."
