Attributed to Moses Connor, Jr. (New Hampshire, active 1800-1832)

Family Record: Lemuel and Abigail Hayes. Unsigned. Watercolor and ink on paper, listing the vital statistics of Lemuel Hayes (b. July 13, 1777) and Abigail Hayes (b. Dec. 31, 1779),and their nine children, ornamented with a pair of fanciful birds, hearts and stylized vines, 12 x 12 in., in a contemporary molded giltwood frame.

Note: A genealogical search records that Lemuel Hayes was the fourth child born to Joseph and Margaret (Brewster) Hayes, in Barrington, Strafford County, New Hampshire. His wife Abigail Hayes was born to Daniel and Hannah Hayes in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire. Lemuel and Abigail were married January 1, 1800 and raised their nine children, two of whom died at a young age, in Alton, Belknap County, New Hampshire.
