N.B. Lange was an actress and the wife of playwright and actor Joseph Henry McAlpin Benrimo. The work presented here shows Lange as "The Image" a character from Benrimo's play The Willow Tree, from the 1933 Woodstock, New York, production. The show was on Broadway in 1917.
