Gem-set and Freshwater Pearl Brooch, centering a pyrope garnet cabochon framed by freshwater pearls, cabochon turquoise, and fancy-cut citrines, ropetwist accents, silver gilt mount, 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 in. Provenance: From the collection of socialite sisters, Elizabeth Calvin Bonner and Margaret Calvin Bowles, whose jewelry was offered in Christie's"Magnificent Jewels", April 2003, New York. Although unsigned, the brooch is similar to the work of Seaman Schepps, from whom the sisters collected.
