Grant, February 23rd 1869; Andrew Johnson, March 3rd, 1869; Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Berlin, 1859; Martin Van Buren, 1862; Henry Ward Beecher; Charles Sumner, with extensive inscription, February 8th, 1860; William Cullen Bryant, July 12th, 1860, with inscription; John C. Fremont; Oliver Wendell Holmes, February 14th, 1866, with poetical inscription; Elizabeth Cady Stanton, August 12, 1872, quoting Tennyson; Winfield Scott Hancock; James Buchanan, April 23rd, 1860; William Seward, with extensive inscription; Fitz John Porter; James Russell Lowell; Samuel L. Clemens, inscribed and also signed Mark Twain; Samuel Smith, with stanzas to "America"; with other figures and several drawings; bound in brass studded oak and leather binding, (excellent overall).
