Five Sunderland Pink Lustre and Transfer Decorated Children's Drinkware, England, early 19th century, including four mugs: one with iron-red transfer decoration with a pious verse in a reserve surrounded by a pastoral scene with cows, figures and distant town, pink lustre accents; a mug with similar coloration, the transfer decoration depicting a Highland man wearing a plumed hat, tartan skirt, and tunic and a woman and a child above the inscription "FOR MY DEAR GIRL"; a mug with mulberry transfer printed design with three children at play over the inscription "FOR MY DEAR GIRL" with pink lustre rim band; a pink lustre decorated mug ornamented with a bird on a branch, a beaker with brown transfer of birds, a nest, and a wreath surrounding the motto "The ALE is good/So pray pour out: As soon as full/Then drink about," (imperfections), ht. 2 1/8-2 3/4 in.
