Large Victorian Silver Tureen, London, 1847, John and Henry Lias, makers, ovoid, the base of body with reeding accented with acanthus, with applied floral, scroll and rocaille rim, with partially reeded handle with acanthus terminals, on rocaille acanthus and rose head legs with paw feet, the domed lid with bold heraldic lion finial, matching the heraldic device engraved to one side over the mottoed coat of arms, wd. to handles 18 3/8, ht. 12 1/2 in., approx. 180 troy oz.
