Finely Detailed Hand-made Paper Dolls of Herbert Hosmer Family Members, c. 1947, done from an 1864 CDV, included, by miniaturist Jane Child, each 5 1/2-6-inch doll is sewn into a box, each has two or three crepe paper dimensional costumes and accessories.

Provenance: Formerly in the Herbert Hosmer collection, his notes read: Jane Child - miniaturist when a young woman - she was over 80 when she made the paper dolls of my grandmother (with doll),and my two great-aunts. P.S. Be careful of the tiny album held in hand of middle girl - I lost it once, and it took me almost 3 hours to find it in debris from vacuum-cleaner bag!!! The doll is loosely held too - might fall out! H.H.H.
