Signed "Marino" l.r., labels from Curt Valentin Gallery, Martha Jackson Gallery,
and David Anderson Gallery, New York, on the reverse.
Pen and ink with pastel on paper, sight size 18 3/4 x 13 1/2 in. (27.6 x 34.2 cm),framed.
Condition: Toning, tape residue to lower corners, not examined out of frame.

N.B. Marino Marini was born in Pistoia in 1901. In 1917, he enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. He taught at an art school in Monza from 1929-1940, and also held several solo exhibitions during this time, the first of which was in Milan in 1932. Following his stay at Monza, Marini became the chair of the sculpture department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera. When World War II forced him to vacate the position in 1943, he took shelter at Tenero-Locarno in Switzerland, where he met many other artists.

A permanent collection of his works is installed in the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan.
