Mahogany Carved and Mahogany Veneer Shelf Clock, Seth Thomas, Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, c. 1825, the carved shell and foliate crest with flanking square plinths above a glazed door, the tablet showing a village green with stenciled border, opening to a white and gilt painted wooden dial and 30 hour wooden weight driven movement, bearing the label "Patent Clocks, invented by Eli Terry, made and sold at Plymouth Hollow, Conn. by Seth Thomas", flanked by vase and ring-turned half-engaged columns, refinished, (imperfections),ht. 34 3/4, wd. 17 1/2, dp. 4 3/4 in.
