Ideal Sublime Harmony Interchangeable Musical Box, By Mermod Frères, No. 52367, with six cylinders playing six airs each, nickel-plated ratchet-wind movement with Jacot safety check and vertical governor with slow/fast adjustment, combined shield-form change/repeat and tune selector, patent dates to 1886, in rosewood veneered case with ormolu carrying handles, boxwood stringing and tulipwood crossbanding to front and marquetry inlaid lid, wd. 28 in., the cylinders 11 in., with five tune sheets, one pine and one walnut cylinder storage box.

Note: The varied program includes two operatic cylinders with pieces by, amongst others, Verdi, Gonoud, Bizet and Rossini, and the Martha-Overture Allegro. There is one cylinder of popular German songs, one of dance and operetta music, and one of religious airs.
