English Culpeper-Type Microscope, of lacquered-brass, with body-tube in two sections mounted on three scroll supports, circular stage with brass retaining clips on underside, mirror on compass joint, and circular foot, ht. 9 1/2 in., in tapering mahogany case, with two baize-lined drawers containing four numbered lacquered-brass objectives, fishplate, brass specimen holder, forceps, sprung slide-holder, talc box and thirteen numbered specimens in ivory mounts, the interior with label of Samuel George Smith and circular label Sold by T & T Hoill, Upper Berkeley Street and Portman Square.
