Pair of Hollowcut and Painted Silhouette Portraits, possibly the work of William Chamberlain, c. 1820, bust length profile portraits, one a young woman identified by an inscription on the reverse as "Pamelia DeWolf/sister of T.K. DeW/born July 16 1794/D. 1862," the other a young man identified on a note as "T.W. DeWolf/Brother," both with hollowcut head and area below shoulder with black painted detailing of hair, vest, collar, and ruffles, on deep blue velvet, (toning, stains, small tears, foxing),3 1/8 x 2 1/8 in. (sight),matted, in molded giltwood frames.

Note: A genealogy search records that Pamelia DeWolf was the third of six children born in 1794 to James and Naomi DeWolf in Otis, Massachusetts, Berkshire County.
