Thirty Day Rosewood Shelf Clock, Atkins Clock Mfg., Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1855-58, the case with hinged door opening to a zinc painted dial framed by an eglomise tablet above the lower mirrored door revealing an iron and brass "patent equalizing lever spring" movement, all flanked by canted recessed paneled corners, the backboard with maker's label, ht. 17 3/4, wd. 13 1/2, dp. 4 in.
Note: This thirty day wagon spring movement was invented by Joseph Ives.
