Lawson; together with Bonaparte, Charles Lucien (1803-57), American Ornithology; or The Natural History or Birds Inhabiting the United States, not given by Wilson, Philadelphia, 1825-33, first edition, four volumes, original half red morocco with marbleized boards, with twenty-six of twenty-seven (plate XVI lacking) hand colored plates drawn by Titian R. Peale and A. Rider and engraved by A. Lawson, total plate count of 102, 4to, (browned and foxed, with offset and minor tears). Sabin 6264 & 104597, Anker pp. 47, 533. Provenance: Descended in the family of Mr. George Harrison of 156 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, listed as an original subscriber, volume IX, and all volumes stamped or inscribed with his signature.
