Gorham Martele .950 Silver Five Piece Tea Service, Providence, c. 1900, retailed by Spaulding & Co., Chicago, comprising tea pot, hot water kettle on stand, cream jug, covered sugar, and waste bowl, bulbous ovoid, each with hammered shaped rim, bodies hand chased and embossed with flowerheads above waist, leaves and sprigs at waist, and with tapered reeds and scrolls below, on squat shaped foot similarly chased and embossed, pot and sugar lids with quadripartite openwork bud finials, flower bud-topped ear handles with ivory heat stops, kettle burner with ivory-ended hande, the teapot with date letters FTQ below mark, burner with JY, teapot ht. 8 in., approx. 155 troy oz.
