Late Victorian Northwind Carved Oak Slant-lid Blockfront Desk, brass rail gallery mounted on flat top over carved slant lid with central carved frieze, fitted interior, three stacked long drawers each with central foliate carved frieze, each front corner with rope turned quarter column, side panels with floral carved frieze, ball and claw feet. Provenance: Accompanying correspondence from Ruth Stafford Peale recounts how this desk had been in the study/office of Norman Vincent Peale while he had been Pastor at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City from 1932-1984.
