Pearlware Baluster-form Jug, Britain, c. 1830, banded in dark brown, blue and brown with brown, dark brown and white cat's eyes on two blue bands, all below a broad reeded green-glazed band., the extruded handle with complex foliate terminals, the pouring lip is molded in a fleur-de-lis pattern, with impressed mark of a D over a 6, (rim chip),ht. 6 1/4 in. Provenance: Clearing House auction of the Vincent Thornburg Estate, Wetherseld, Connecticut, 1982.! Exhibitions: Mocha Mania, The Dewitt Wallace Gallery, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, 1993-94.
