13-Inch Globus Coelestis Novus (New Celestial Globe) by Johan Doppelmayer, Nuremberg, 1730/1728, with two sets of twelve printed gores, the constellations represented as animals, humans, and objects and labeled in Latin, in brass meridian circle with hour ring, on oak Dutch-style stand with four baluster-turned legs on bun feet, (lacking horizon gore, small dent), ht. 18 1/2 in.
