Early Papier-mch}Shoulder Head Lady Doll, c. 1835, Voit-type "Pauline," black pupil-less glass eyes, closed mouth, rosy cheek coloring, brown human hair wig with multiple-strand braids, looped around ears to bun (thin, stitched) in back, slender kid lady body, original clothing includes cotton pantaloons, sized crinoline, organdy and lace bridal gown, net veil with orange blossom trim, white slippers, ht. 16 1/2 in. Literature: Christiane Gratnitz, German Papier-Mch}Dolls 1760-1860, pp. 96-101.
