Description:

Grain-Painted and Decorated Six-Board Chest, Massachusetts, late 18th century, the rectangular top with molded edge opens to a scratch-beaded lidded till labeled "dry goods" above a drawer titled "A. Perkins" in a smoke-grained interior with green-gray paint, above a straight skirt with side shaping, all-over faux bois simulating mahogany, the top outlined in yellow and green striping with floral corners, original paint and decoration, (minor surface imperfections),ht. 25, wd. 46 1/2, dp. 18 1/4 in.
