Alice Ravenel Huger Smith (American, 1876-1958) "Misty Moon" Signed "Alice R.H. Smith" l.r. Watercolor on paper, sight size 15 1/2 x 21 in. (39.0 x 53.0 cm),framed. Condition: Scattered foxing, subtle toning, not examined out of frame. N.B. Harry McInvaill became aquainted with Alice Ravenel Huger Smith and her sister Caroline in 1943, and actually lived with the sisters in the 1940s. It was through them that McInvaill met his wife, Talulah. According to Talulah McInvaill, "Misty Moon" was one of the artist's favorites.
